BEING FOR THE BENEFIT OF HERR KEIT

In The Enemy Within: A Companion I put together various bills of events for the Middenheim Carnival. I had intended that they should capture the spirit of Victorian circus posters, such as the one that inspired the Beatles’ Being for the Benefit of Mr Kite. However, in the end the handouts I produced were much more prosaic.

Now that I am updating the Companion again, I am going to revisit the Carnival handouts. I have started with a new flyer for the Carnival, which has been mainly put together with modified extracts from historical posters. The final version will appear in the relevant section of the Companion, but I am making it available here by way of a preview.

  1. I made something akin to this, with a “flyer” for each event during the carnival. Printed 1-3 copies of each one (numbers pretty much at random), mixed them all up, and divied them out between the players once they got inside Middenheim.

    They frickin loved it!
